„Non-gloomy Death“ was the briefing for illustrating this collection of Christian von Aster‘s humorous and sensitive short stories, published 2024 by Edition Outbird.
The aim was to symbolize the essence of each story in a single small illustration, to tease the content without spoilers, as these would be used as title/divider pages.
The illustrations are executed digitally (Photoshop) in a fun, reduced black and white style. I contributed 14 illustrations and the cover illustration to the project.")

Hey there!
I'm Maxi, a freelance illustrator (B.A. Design) specializing in book illustration. My techniques include ink drawing, linocut and digital illustration in Adobe Photoshop. Due to my M.A. in creative writing I'm a great fit for working on the intersections between literature and design.
Possible projects range from book illustration (poetry, novels), to book cover design and album cover art.
