Hi, thanks for your questions and commentary! I would like to add some additional detail to the brief. First, we do not have dielines yet for the sachet and box. We're primarily concerned with identifying the design that best matches our desired visual style. Please provide submissions that would approximately work with packaging of the given dimensions.
Secondly, we did not provide a logo on purpose - we would like the company name and product name to both be presented using a creative font and color combination. We are biased towards thin, fun, and modern fonts.
Our product comes in (3" x 4") sachets which are packed 60 per box onto folding carton boxes (6 1/2" x 7" x 4 1/8") for retail. We need the folding carton box and sachet packaging graphics designed. The packaging has several regulatory requirements (like nutritional information box and certain text disclosures) which we will disclose during the next round of the contest.
The product packaging will define our brand identity. We are looking for creative designers who can envision a visual style that conveys the following themes: energy, assurance, confidence, wholesomeness, optimism, the sun is rising, and/or the storm is passing. We are interested in how designers can use fonts, stylization, and color schemes to help us develop a solid brand identity that is in tune with our product.
In order of importance:
3) Engaging (serious without being sterile or scary)
4) Conveys themes

We like how the package is modern and slightly playful
Unlike four sigmatic we would like four our product to be a little more serious, but not in a sterile way. Our product is targetted at people who have just undergone a very stressful experience and are looking for something that takes into account the gravity of the situation.
Lastly, we like how the company name is above the product name but in a de-emphasized way.
We like the modern, sophisticated visual style. It's clean and simplistic.
We like the use of different font styles and colors to highlight their name. However, this example is too plain.

The front of the packaging should contain our company name (Surgical Nutrition) above the product name (Recovery +) but the product name should be the center of attention.
The submissions should include dummy text where appropriate to illustrate potential layouts, fonts, and color schemes.
The sachet design should be a simplified version of the graphics in the retail box.
