As part of Grub Street's 13th annual literary conference, we are expanding our programming to hold something called Lit Week: 7 days of literary events that are free and open to the public. The events are fun and festive--a cocktail hour, a gallery show of words and images called "Wordplay," a party with a musical performance by a famous author, and much more. The events are happening all over Boston and we want to create a cohesive flyer/poster that captures the energy and spirit of a fun week of social/literary activities.
So... here's what we're looking for. We'd like a 8.5" x 14" flyer, and we have a concept we'd like to try out. We were thinking of the image of a sparkler (like the kind you use on 4th of July). The sparkler would connote the idea of "Lit" in a non-literary way. The sparkle imagery could be a design element that separated out the listings about each event. There will be 8-10 events and I'll attach as much text as I can. The flyer will also need to include the logos of the participating organizations at the bottom, our logo at the top, and the title "Lit Week 2014" at the top. I should mention that if you have ideas that aren’t with the sparkler, I’m open to those as well.
The other thing we need to consider is that we have an existing poster for our literary conference and we'd like the two posters to share a color palette and work together visually. I will attach that poster as well so that you have the colors, etc.
We recently redesigned our website: http://www.grubstreet.org, and most of the literary conference information is at http://www.museandthemarketplace.org. Please let me know if you have other questions, and thanks!
