Extremely important: Please also note that designs including or evoking tea bags in any way will not be considered. We wish to promote appreciation of quality, loose-leaf tea, and tea bags are antithetical to this.
At the Vancouver Tea Society, one of our chief goals is to modernize the way tea is viewed among the general public. For too long, tea has suffered from a perception that it is unexciting and staid - a "beverage for grannies", we've heard it derisively called. Don't get us wrong, we love grannies, but we wish to move beyond - far beyond - tea's unfortunate and highly inaccurate association with doilies, frilly things, and pinkies in the air. We would like our logo to reflect the fun, freshness, intrigue, and infinite diversity inherent in high-quality specialty tea, with a focus on the values of youthfulness, vibrance, optimism, warmth, inclusiveness, and sophistication without pretension. Also on our wishlist, though not absolutely imperative, is for this logo to elide at least a bit with the example logo, attached, that we used for the inaugural Vancouver Tea Festival this past November. While we want the Vancouver Tea Society logo to be distinctive and stand completely on its own, given how well the festival logo was received, a design element or elements that evoke that logo - even implicitly - may be helpful to include in your iteration of the Vancouver Tea Society logo.
