For Youth helps Toronto teens get ahead, regardless of where they come from. Members can come after school to learn and discuss career and education planning, relationship problems, money management, youth justice and critical thinking around TV and the web, as well as many other important topics.
We're a government-funded United Way agency with a community space where we run programs. Our logo should appeal to teens ages 15-18 years. It should be cool, modern and inspiring. We don't want a logo that looks like a boring old community centre - we want something sleek that the youth get excited about!
This is our second contest to find the right logo for us.
The winning logo from the first contest is attached to this contest page, it is a Satisfaction font signature-style work mark logo. While the font is attractive, as a logo it is too plain. The maple leaf picture has poor placement and is unoriginal, and the font looks like a retail clothing company. It is very important that our logo be unique and something we are proud of - it will be with us for 10 years or more.
Ideally we need a logo that has an attractive font as well as a recognizable image, shape or symbol.
***DESIGNERS HAVE 3 OPTIONS FOR SUBMISSIONS:
Option #1: You can use the Satisfaction font for "For Youth", add in "Initiative" in a complimentary font under "Youth" (the complimentary font would be a non serif, your choice), and incorporate a small, simple and well-placed red maple leaf.
Option #2: We like the attached photo of a boy's silhouette and have considered trying to use it in our future logo. But the issue is that we serve girls as well and so the silhouette would need to be of a teen boy and girl, OR need to be androgynous. Please feel free to try using this silhouette if you can find a way to make it gender-inclusive, and can find a font that would be complimentary to your design.
Option #3: You can do an entirely unique design if you have an idea you think would be better than the above.
Please see the attached photos of sample logos we like.
Thank you for your submission!
