I have always liked the imagery of a tree logo, to symbolise 'growth' / 'knowledge' etc. I have added a few examples, but I tend to like the tree logos that are not symmetrical, as I think they seem to have a bit more personality
Considering that the company is called GPS Therapy, I have also considered incorporating a compass symbol to the logo to symbolise "direction', 'being on the right path', 'life's journey' etc. In my head, I think of a tree with a compass logo carved into the trunk, but not attached to that idea at all.
Use of the 'Growth. Purpose. Skills' slogan is optional for the logo, but I am thinking it probably makes sense to have the words involved somewhere, as it then explains why the company is called 'GPS Therapy'.
Of course, having said all this, I'm totally happy for designers to do something completely different/original if they come up with a better logo idea. I'm definitely open to having someone show me something that i would never have thought of myself. Designers can be as literal or abstract as they like. Its worth mentioning that the majority of people I work with have often had (very) tough lives - often due to no fault of their own. Therefore I'm hoping to find a design to convey a positive message, but without it being cheesy or patronising.
The logo will be used for company business cards, letterheads, email signature etc. It is likely that I will choose embossed business cards in a matte finish, so a logo that would work well with those options is likely to do well.
