We build youth by teaching them the five character traits of Compassion, Sacrifice, Passion, Teamwork and Leadership.
We do this by taking groups of American students to Rocky Point, Mexico, to build homes for the poor. Our slogan was formerly "Building youth by building for the poor," but was changed to "Building Youth. Dismantling Poverty" when we began a scholarship program for the kids of families we have built for--schooling in Mexico is free through 8th grade, and costs about $480/year for high school. Kids really need a high school education to get out of the systemic poverty they have been born into.

Inspiration de design
The logo will be most often seen by UthBuilders and other high school students on t-shirts, but will also be used in fundraising efforts with older adults. For $2,500 we build a livable home for a family, and we typically triple the size of the house, including adding a bathroom and septic system, for another $2,500.
An important thing to me is a sort of "60 mph" rule. It should be easily read and understood at 60 mph as people drive by--on our box trailer, or a van, etc.
