Above are example of materials we've created for past events. We do NOT have to stick with these - WE ARE LOOKING TO UPGRADE our look, our brand, and....well....you can say we are "growing up" a little bit. The "green man" is just something we've had fun with and are very open to a VERY simple, iconic logo utilizing this in conjunction with text.
Here are some insights into what we may like:
1. Simple design that can convey some or all the following concepts:
a). Clean energy - B.U.S. converts the waste cooking oil (WVO) from restaurants into biodiesel for use, mainly, in school buses, which have a history of exhaust fume contamination linked to a rise in kids with asthma and lung disease from petroleum exhaust leaking into older, poorly insulated buses.
b.) Resourcefulness - B.U.S. promotes sustainable practices by encouraging the local community and businesses to leverage a local resource, in an effort to help local school districts. That resource (WVO) will mostly likely end up being collected by a large company, which does not use the WVO for fuel, but instead sells the oil to feedlots for use in cow and pig food, in order to "fatten" them up.
c.) Simplicity - this is really a no brainer. just like most things sustainable, efficiency is key. The logo should reflect this.
d.) The logo should have an "icon" that can be used by itself, such as on social media profiles, and products, autonomous from the test in the logo, similar the Yellow Water Can in the Charity Water example provided.
...and last but least, HAVE FUN! We work with schools, kids, local businesses, the biofuel community-at-large, organize events and love what we are doing. By helping B.U.S. with our new logo, you are now a part something very very cool, and you should also have fun doing this!
Best of luck to you!
