My website has the current logo on it.... http://www.kalmiadesign.com. I've had it for 15 years or so and I have never really liked it much. I think it evokes too much of a tropical association for my new england aesthetic. A kalmia flower for those of you who don't know is native to the eastern U.S. kalmia latifolia shrub. Mountain Laurel is the common name. I named the company after the kalmia because I do love the flower from bud to the open stage. The bud and flower are both SO engineered...it's like oragami. I have this notion that the design of the flower points to a creative Creator...the design didn't 'just happen.'
For 16 years I've had a fairly successful word of mouth business and have been able to carry on my business incognito to a degree. I have never had my trucks lettered. I want to get my trucks lettered and I want to update my website (looks fine but the back end is antiquated...flash, etc...no real way to optimize search engine words) so NOW is the time for my new logo! I've also been creating a new website on WIX...go to http://ja9987.wix.com/kalmiadesign The colors are a little too brash for me...I'll end up toning them down. You'll note the turquoise rectangle on the left of each page in the website...that is where I want the logo along with "KALMIA DESIGN landscape design, construction and lighting"
The kalmia flower does not have to be a literal representation.
I do want the logo portion (aside from font) to be meaningful...to represent the kalmia flower or at least the concept of landscape design...I'm not looking for a random, meaningless logo. I don't want the logo to be the 'K' in kalmia either.
Also, the files I attached show the current logo and also a current business card
