This is not about pity or a conversation about whether or not we should have participated in Afghanistan. This is about recognizing that the people involved in supporting our foreign initiatives are just that. Regular people. Who chose an extraordinary career that took them away from their families and important moments in their families lives to represent Canada. These are strong families who deserve a simple Thank you in terms of what they have done for our country.
