n.b. Qualifying round extended by 3 days due to bank holiday weekend.
The design should avoid the obvious interpretation of the word "Halo". A ring around the text is preferably avoided unless a new twist can be found.
Elements of the logo should be distinctive enough that we can use them in other parts of the system, whether these be the font used, the main colour or highlight colours - we want to be able to design our application around the style of the logo.
With that in mind, the winner will need to submit brand guidelines along with the logo.
While the industry we've chosen is "Medical and Pharmaceutical", don't incorporate and obvious medical / pharmaceutical imagery into the logo.
Feel free to explore colour choices but a palette that we liked a lot can be found here:
Explanations of the example logos:
Example 1: Simple, strong design. Abstract but still conveys an idea.
Example 2: Text is nice, but the tessellating, circular imagery is what captured our attention.
Example 3: Captures the expression/feeling of water without going overboard and being too obvious. We're not looking for a logo with a single, big H however.
Example 4: Nice use of colour - would allow us to use colour throughout the app while still matching the logo. Also lovely use of abstract shape and negative space. However the face seems a little hurriedly done.
Example 5: Incredibly effective use of simplification to create a strong, impactful logo.
Example 6: Great use of typography and an effective idea has resulted in a beautiful, memorable logo
Example 7: Another logo with usage of colour that would work well in any point in our application. It also uses shapes and negative space to good effect.
Example 8: A striking use of text and negative space to produce a logo that conveys the experience of space without using an obvious theme/idea.
(Apologies if the example images are not in numeric order - they seem to have uploaded in an odd fashion)
Update: A lot of submissions are being entered in upper-case, so it may be worth clarifying that the logo should be in lower-case.
