Mandatory: Need to include a cross inside the design.
See attached for current logo used for last 4 years. There is some concern that the existing logo may be "too" feminine.
We typically add across the top "1st Annual" etc at the top to designate this year's event in the original font. We want to have the ability for future events to designate which annual event we are holding. However, we are interested in playing up the 5th annual event in a unique way though recognize we need a logo that we can continue to use in future years.
Demographics of race participants:
61% of participants are female.
39% of participants are male.

Basic background information about the event:
In 2012, the 5th annual event, our goal is to have over 700 participants and raise over $25,000.
The event is named after Marti Readling Estes, who was a Mooresville resident in her early 30's who passed away suddenly while out running. She was married and had two little boys at the time of her passing. She was an avid runner who enjoyed participating in running events that benefited philanthropic organizations. This event was started as a God-sized project to help the local community.
All proceeds of each Marti Estes 5K goes to a local Mooresville charity selected by its organizing committee each year. The 2011 event had over 600 runners/walkers and raised over $22,500 for these local Mooresville philanthropic organizations: HealthReach Communicty Clinic, Mooresville Soup Kitchen, and Mooresville Christian Mission.
