This is a business for tired parents, likely focusing on mothers. If the baby doesn't sleep, neither do the parents. The logo should be simple and pretty - not complicated.
The purpose of the business is to provide coaching and support to parents to help develop a plan for better sleep for their child.
The owner of the business is a mother herself, and a trained occupational therapist. This business is built upon medical expertise and know-how. It is a small business, though - and should feel friendly and personal, not overly corporate
Here are some other websites in this industry. This is NOT necessarily the style we need to emulate. These links are intended to provide background on an unfamiliar industry. DON'T JUST START COPYING :)
Note that many of these logos lean on the most obvious visual cliches like a moon or night sky. Nothing wrong with that concept done well, but please attempt some creative solutions or at least a creative approach as these are most likely to be encouraged for ongoing development.
Design preference is to think of vintage or early 20th century styles, with a modern take on a classic approach: http://www.designer-daily.com/round…igns-41336
Modernized vintage design - or vintage design with color will be a good direction. http://designshack.net/articles/ins…tro-logos/

This contest will be closely monitored and is being managed by a design agency with experience in design language and vocabulary, and with an understanding of vector, print, and online design. Therefore logos will be fairly evaluated. Please do not submit photographic, bitmappy, or 3D submissions or any submissions which do not represent the design brief or which are not suitable for reproduction. Please do not spam contest with many minor variations before your idea has been reviewed.
Initial submissions will be rated as 1 or 2 stars only, with ratings increasing to 3 stars for well realized ideas, and 4 or 5 stars only in subsequent days and toward the final rounds. This method allows progress to be communicated. Please do not be discouraged if your submission only rates one star at first - it means we like it!
We will work with all designers and offer constructive feedback. However, designs that clearly do not meet quality standards, spam the contest, or fail to interpret feedback will be eliminated without notice.
