A logo is needed for a new high quality jewelry line in Namiba, Africa
This is a project to support and enhance the value chain of small scale miners (SSM) in the coloured gemstone industry-sector in Namibia.
Our aim is to provide for the miners a better standard of living and social security by selling modern and high-quality designer jewellery made of gemstones mined by them.
The gemstones and semi-precious stones used are traded fairly and their procurement channels are transparent. A percentage of the sales proceeds is returned to a fund which has the task of improving the living conditions of the miners.
The jewellery line is being launched on the Namibian market and comprises a broad product line, from trendy designs to high-priced jewellery in small exclusive editions. The materials used are exclusively Namibian gemstones such as topaz, aquamarine, tourmaline and precious metals such as silver and gold.
The jewellery will be sold in hotels and lodges, in a shop-in-shop system and in other outlets, where the logo will make a major contribution to the overall impression.
Our demanding customers are international tourists who spend their holidays in Namibia's beautiful countryside. They photograph, travel around or go on safaris to see the beautiful landscape and the large variety of wild animals. They are usually not interested in shopping as the have high demands that cannot always be met at the local craft markets and already have jewellery which might be similar. Our aim is to make these tourists remember their trip to Namibia with a unique and precious piece of jewellery, mined, made and bought in Namibia. This piece of jewellery tells a story and its owner supports people who are less fortunate in life with this purchase, at fair conditions.
The logo design should consider:
Social commitment, combining fair trade with high-quality jewellery,
addressing design and quality-conscious customers,
be so original and charming that it has a high recognition effect,
contribute to the design of hotels and luxury lodges,
be creative and noble
lShould resemble a valuable gem, jewellery or something equally valuable
What not to include:
Only lettering or initials
too many colours.
