Have you ever rented or thought about renting an RV? Did you dream about the adventure of a cross country road trip, fun tailgate party or spending quality time camping with your friends and family. Much of this excitement often fades as soon as you look for an RV rental online. Mileage allotment, daily rate, generator fees, preparation fees, kitchen and personal kits, chairs, it quickly becomes all but impossible to make a comparison between RVs let alone RV rental companies. The solution is RV Sherpa. It’s a website to easily compare RV for rent from rental centers and private owners across the country. RV Sherpa does for RVs what Expedia did for comparison shopping hotel rooms and airbnb did for renting privately owned housing.
RV Sherpa - your RV journey begins here.
The logo and colors will give our traveler the comfort of a friendly guide. They should feel at home on our site and when they see the logo it should be friendly and approachable. They should feel warmth, trust as they think of the good times they will have on the trip they are planning and the friend RV Sherpa guide that will help them.
Our audience is generally 30+ and with a family, but we also cater to singles and couples looking to take an RV journey which can range from 20-80 years old. Our audience skews female as they do much of the shopping and trip planning in a typical family, so we would like to see friendly, inviting, trustworthy.
We are looking for a color pallet to use for our company as well, but it's probably best to first start with black/white/grayscale until we see a good concept design then colors can be applied. It should be flat and simple, iconic, no gradients and shading, communicating RV Sherpa as the site/company of choice when looking at an rv trip or RV info. See the examples below/attached file, our logo should look at home among these examples. Once we have a logo we will be starting a website design contest, this contest is for the logo only. Also, please only submit original artwork, not clipart ( like found here http://bit.ly/1jVfwcq ) unless it has been used only as inspiration and you've heavily modified it to make it your own. Anything using generic, non original artwork will be eliminated and or not used if found later to have used generic clipart. Thank you.
Qualifying round:Please submit designs in only in black/white/grayscale. During the final round color can be applied and designs finalized. Also, we would like to see a horizontally oriented layout since it will be used in the upper left corner of a website, the logo can also have a stacked/square/vertically oriented layout for other materials, but the website will work best with a horizontally applied design.
Final round:Finalists will apply color to their logos and final tweaks to the designs before a winner is selected.
If you have any questions please let us know. Also, the winners design is going to be featured at the Launch Festival in San Francisco ( http://events.launch.co/festival/ ) on Monday which attracts thousands of visitors and press so the winner's design is going to get lots of exposure there and also at the SXSW festival in Austin, TX as it will be only postcards, business cards, banners and other printed materials.
Please submit your entries as soon as possible, since we will pick a design as soon as we find one we like.
