We have recently taken over this small bar and are giving it a facelift. We haven't changed the name though felt the need to redesign everything about the brand identity. We have the basis of our brand identity more or less nailed down though need some digital illustrations (read 'logo' or 'hero characters') to form the next part of our brand identity.
As I hope is clear from the rest of our brand, we want to take a very light hearted look at office stereotypes and play on that to help create a very fun and youthful persona that would still resonate with the more mature crowd.
We want to compete with some of the best small bars in Perth, we have the talent and parts of the brand design though need some funky illustrations to round out the brand identity.
The branding thus far is quite clean. We would like a quirky little hero character (fit for a cut-out sign, coffee cup stamps, menus etc) similar in style and pose to the attachment labelled Taxali Postman (We love Gary taxali's work). We like the variable weight lines, casual exuberance displayed, simple colour scheme, and the quirky little additions like the musical note etc.
With our hero character, we were thinking of one of the characters carrying a cup of coffee or glass of whiskey, carrying something else ' for the office' and dressed in a suit and what ever else will really scream out 'day at the office'.
We would like to create a similar series (3 max) of images of our own. The can be either the same character with different poses, accessories etc or a series of different characters with unique appearances. If multiple characters, we'd like to see some diversity. Read into that as you will.
We have some other digital illustration which can be seen on our menus. I don't see a need to include any/too much reference to the images seen there though it may provide some inspiration.
With regards to any signage. We aim to turn this image into our sign as a cut-out to fit on the wall in a similar back/top lit style as laid out in 'Raised sign.jpg' and also potentially hanging in an A-frame.
With regards to the slogan, we don't need one, though if you have something in mind, we're happy to listen.
Our other logos attached.
Thanks so much in advance for all of your contributions.
