Three things of great importance:
(1) We are a consumer-focused company with our roots in cutting-edge, award winning science. Our scientific team and R&D / laboratory collaborations come from institutions like Harvard, MIT, Stanford with individuals who have been nominated for and won the Nobel Prize in medicine. Because of this, it is important to have a logo that conveys and captures the legitimate scientific roots of our company. This doesn't have to be done in an obvious fashion, subtle or clever is just as fine, but this explains why our current logos to date have centered around themes like molecular structure (the hexagon you see in the information packet).
(2) It is also important to have a logo that speaks to and resonates with the consumer. While we are a science-first company, we need to resonate with end consumers (of all ages and genders - our natural products are focused on general health and wellness, so no specific need to highlight any particular part of the body or biology). The logos we've attached as "logo examples we like" are there because they are relatively clean and simple, make great use of color, and actually somehow reflect their corresponding business (Soundcloud as a reverberating cloud, Wrapp as box wrapping, HotelTonight as an "H" that makes a bed, etc.
(3) The attached presentation offers a bit of perspective on where we have come over the last several months with the logo. This is only for educational purposes - you do not have to further develop these logos unless you want to. We would love to see your creativity expressed, using our old logos or using completely new ones!
In short: we love bright colors, clean designs, something clever and memorable that relates to our brand. It can run in line with our previous history or can be something entirely different.
