Description: What is Anti-Matter? In an atomic reaction, matter is converted into energy. In the average modern thermonuclear bomb, about 12-15% of the fissionable material inside is converted into energy; the rest is vaporized and becomes radioactive waste. By comparison, the Hiroshima bomb converted only 5-6% of its reactive material into energy.
But when anti-matter is combined with matter, 100% of the matter is converted into energy, with zero remainder of radioactive material. It is the only completely efficient reaction in the known universe – all other energy sources generate waste in one form or another. This perfect conversion of matter into energy is therefore more powerful by orders of magnitude. (This reaction is called annihilation, because zero matter remains.)
Branding: “Matter” represents the ordinary, the mundane, the everyday - the tiresome repetition of existence. We are expressly Anti these things; we transcend the ordinary, annihilate repetitive and unnecessary processes, and translate work, effort, resources and ideas directly into energy.
Our design style should evoke the exciting (and dangerous!) period when “the possibilities of the atom” were first being explored. The optimistic 50’s- era view that Science would solve all problems was both insightful and naïve, as little was yet known about the true nature of the mediums being explored.
This era directly parallels the modern so-called “Digital Revolution”, where there is a universal optimism and belief in the potential of digital media, but there is as yet little understanding of its power or how to use it effectively.
Our branding should connect these two eras in an abstract and subliminal way, illustrating that Anti-Matter Media recognizes both the potential and the risks of new media and is prepared to effectively navigate both on behalf of our clients.
