Independent Hearing Solutions (IHS) is an independent owned and operated business that provides hearing solutions for the hearing impaired client. The emphasis is on the independent nature of the business, which operates in a market place where 80% of the providers are either corporately owned or operated by manufacturers or government operated clinics. Independent Hearing Solutions aims to provide its clients with high levels of service, providing the best solutions for their hearing loss without the product bias that is displayed by the other mainstream providers.

We are a new business that will enter the market to provide the hearing impaired private client with an independent hearing solution. Our target markets are clients that are still participating in the work force, the fully funded retiree (baby boomer) who demand a level of service and a flexible approach to their hearing loss needs. IHS provides an alternative to the retail chains and will have a flexible approach to meeting the client’s time needs, especially catering for the needs of those clients who are still actively participating in the work force.
Our business goal is to provide the privately funded hearing-impaired client with the best solutions for their needs. The company’s marketing focus will be based on a high level of internet and web-based marketing. Although other traditional forms of marketing will be initially employed to gain exposure, the “word of mouth” factor has a huge bearing on the success of the business.

Our Design thoughts:
The hearing industry is a conservative market, as most clients still perceive hearing loss as a disability and therefore wearing hearing instruments as a negative. Traditionally the hearing instrument industry has taken a medical approach in most of their imagery and advertising, although more recently the corporate chains are taking a retail approach with their presence now in major shopping complexes.
As Hearing instruments can be expensive, our image has to be one of quality and service – high value
Logo design can be simple without being boring. Our design image needs to appeal to the 50 years + male/ female business executive as well as the retired baby boomer.
Ideally, something simple/ clean that can be used across all company documentation and the web
Independent Hearing Solutions is a long name and we recognize this. Therefore, we could look at abbreviations of part or all of the name.
As our clients will also have the eyesight of a 50+ adult the type face needs to be easily readable, but not oversized. (no smaller the Font 12)

Colors: deep blue is our preference but open to other ideas that appeal to the target audience.
With respect to color design, it must appeal to the target audience and be easily read. It needs to promote the company and be associated with honesty, trustworthiness.
