If The Poor Were Next Door
Gret Glyer
Gret Glyer is the CEO of DonorSee, the platform that shows you that your money is helping real people in need with personalized video updates. From 2013 to 2016, Gret lived with the world’s poorest people in Malawi, Africa where he built more than 150 houses for the homeless and crowdfunded $100,000 to build a girls’ school in rural Malawi. Gret has been featured in USA Today, National Review, HuffPo, Acton Institute and is a TEDx Speaker.
Imagine if the people living in extreme poverty were your next-door neighbor. How would that change things?
"If The Poor Were Next Door" is a short but compelling read. In about one hour, you will know my most intense life experiences and how they culminated in DonorSee.
These are the experiences that shaped who I am, what I believe and why I have devoted my life to serving the poorest half of the planet.
I do not hold back in this book. I don't sugarcoat any of the stories and I don't shy away from sharing my opinion. This is a redemptive book about some of the darkest moments of my life. Moments that have made me who I am.
When you are finished, you will put it down with a brand new, refreshed, inspired and open-minded perspective.

Fans of mine, people wanting to hear about adventures in Africa and people wanting to learn about global wealth disparity.
Open to your suggestions!
I have two ideas for a cover.
1) It looks like the front cover is torn down the middle. On the left side is a nice house that you would find in a suburban neighborhood with a beautiful green yard and blue sky. On the right side is an African hut with dust on the ground and an orange sky. It should be obvious that the left side is wealthy and the right side is poor.
2) The cover is of someone looking out a window. They are inside a beautiful suburban house and as they look out side they see a neighbor who is living in poverty in Africa.
I am also open to your ideas for a cover! It's important to me that the cover is striking, professional and sleek.
I think I would prefer a custom illustration as opposed to use of stock images. But I am open to see what is made.
